Autism Advisor

The Autism Advisor is the person you need to speak with to assist you with negotiating the service maze and accessing funding under the Helping Children with Autism Package.

Mansfield Autism Statewide Services

The Mansfield Autism Statewide Service offers:

  • Travelling teacher service - (In home support and educational support)
  • Family Camps
  • Boarding residence for children attending Mansfield Autism School away from home. (12 students aged 6-18 years) 
  • Dookie Secondary School (12 students aged 11-18 years)
  • Facility Based Respite (0-18years)

The service is available to all school-aged children (primary and secondary) with a diagnosis of Autism or Asperger's Syndrome.  Local families have found this service extremely helpful; however there are long waiting lists to access the service.

Adult Autism Services

The Northern Adult Autism Service was established in 2008. It offers: staff experienced in working with people with Autism and complex needs, high staff ratios, facilities including 2 spacious program rooms, sensory room, open air access.  It is a division of Peter Harcourt Disability Services.
